With the accumulation of multi-scale and large data in mental disorders, we are in the unprecedented position of potentially finding out the roots of many diseases, using both modelling and data mining approaches.In the talk, we will first review the current situation we are facing.A few successful examples to illustrate how we can combine efforts from medical science (collecting data), biology(exploring mechanisms), computer science (visualization), statistics(mining data) and mathematics (modelling) to tackle diseases such as schizophrenia, depression and autism.Finally, the implications of our work in current Brain projects and applications are also briefly summarized.
