Pu.1 plays critical roles in myeloid cell development and acts as a tumor suppressor in myeloid leukemia. Here we report a hypomorphic pu.1 zebrafish allele(pu.1G242D)with reduced Pu.1 expression,in which the definitive myelopoiesis is altered as myeloid hyperplasia. We showed that immature myeloid cells of definitive origin begin to increase in the caudal hematopoietic tissue(CHT,a hematopoietic tissue equivalent to the mammalian fetal liver)of pu.1G242D larvae.
