Aims: Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) and transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) are pH-sensitive channels.Although they were initially found in the nervous system, more and more attentions have been attracted to other tissues, especially the cardiovascular system. The aims of this study are to identify the existence of ASICs and TRPV1 in the heart of rodents, and to examine the roles of these pH-sensitive channels in pathophysiology of myocardial ischemia.
