In this paper,we explore machine learning methodology for the BioNLP11 Shared Task on Event Extraction,using syntactic dependency relations as the underlying principle for extracting and characterizing events.Event extraction is complex,however,a closer look at various biological corpora also suggests that beneath the complexity lie regularities,which may potentially be exploited by converting them into usable features under suitable machine learning framework.
