Tostudytheapplicationvalueofunsuppressedwaterinbrainsingle-voxelspectroscopybycomparingtheparameters obtainedfromthetwofittingscriptsaftertheprotonspectroscopyofthebrain. Methods:20patientswererecruitedinourstudyandreceivedMRSscanningandconventionalplainscanincludingT2WI,flair andT1WI.Positioningvolumewasplacedinthelesionsandcontralateralnormaltissue,andsaturatedzonewasaddedsuperior andinferior,leftandright,beforeandafterpositioningvolumetosuppresstheinterferenceofsignalsaround.PRESS,volume selectionmethodandhalfechoacquisitionwereusedtoacquiredatawithparametersofTR2000ms,TE35ms,numberof excitation128,voxelsize20mmX20mmX20mm.Watersuppressionwasoptimizedwithpencilbeamusedasthefirstorder shimming.EachpatientobtainedtwogroupsofdataderivedfromtheconventionalbrainsinglevoxelshortTEscriptfittingand unsuppressed-watwefittinganalysis,andthesecondfittingwasnonwater-suppresionastheseconddenominator.NAA,Cr, CHOandlacrelatedparametersandtheratiowereobtainedinorder.Metaboliteareaunderpeaks,metabolitesandCrratios, ratiobetweenwater-inhibitionandnonwater-inhibitionfittingwerecompared.Pairedttestwasusedtocomparethefitting parametersandtheratiobetweenthesufferingside Results:normalsideoftheoriginaldatabythetwofittingmethodsobtainedmetaboliteareaunderpeaks,metabolitesandCr ratiosarebasicallysame,nosignificantdifferenceswasfound(P>0.05),nonwater-inhibitionfittinganalysiscanprovidedataof Crcontentandwatercontentratio;sufferingsideoftheoriginaldatabythetwofittingmethodsobtainedobtainedmetabolite areaunderpeaks,metabolitesandCrratiohadnosignificantdifference(P>0.05),whilecomparewiththenormaltissue, significantdifferencewasfoundinlac,Cr,lacandCrratiobetweenwater-inhibitionandnonwater-inhibitionfitting(P<0.05). Conclusion:Unsuppressedwateranalysisfittingin1Hprotonsinglevoxelspectroscopyscanningcanprovidesemiquantitative analysisofwatercontent,itcandirectlydisplaytheshimmingquality,fittingparameteradjustment;andithasgreatsignificance inthequalitativediagnosisofCrmetabolism-relatedchanges,whichcanprovidefurtherclearchangesofmetaboliteswhenin conventionalfittingmetabolitesandCrratioanomalyexists.
