Purpose:Toevaluatethecharacteristicofatherosclerosisatcarotid,cerebralandcoronaryarteriesinpatientsafteracute ischemicstroke(AIS)withandwithouttype-2diabetesmellitususinghigh-pitchdual-sourceCTA. Methods:77patientsafterAISundergoinghigh-pithcombinedcoronaryandcarotid-cerebralCTAwithin2weeksweredivided intotwogroupsbasedonthepresenceoftype-2diabetesornot.Curvedplanarreformatting(CPR),maximumintensity projection(MIP),multiplanarreformatting(MPR)andvolumerendering(VR)imageswereusedtoevaluatetheatherosclerosisof carotid,cerebralandcoronaryarteries.Obstructionorstenosisgreaterthan50%wasclassifiedassignificantstenosis.Coronary arterycalciumscores(CACS),aortacalciumscores,carotidbifurcationcalciumscores,carotidsiphoncalciumscoreswere quantifiedsemiautomaticallybycalculatingAgastonscoreonnon-enhancedimages.Differencebetweenthetwogroupswas compared.Riskfactorssuchasage,gender,hypertension,dyslipidemia,historyofcerebrovasculardiseaseandcoronaryartery diseasewerecomparedaswell. Results:Amongthe77subjects(58male,19female,meanage59.4±10.8years),36.4%(28cases)haddiabetes.Therewasno statisticaldifferenceontheprevalenceofsignificantstenosisincoronary,carotidandcerebralarteriesbetweenthetwogroups. Thecourseofcerebrovasculardisease,rightcoronaryarterycalciumsoresandcarotidbifurcationcalciumscoresweredifferent betweenthetwogroups(P<0.05). Conclusions:InAISpatients,type-2diabetesisrelatedtosomeatherosclerosisfeaturesbutnottotheseverityofstenosisat coronary,carotidorcerebralarteries
