Blackbuck (Antelope cervicapra L.) is the only living representative of the genus Antelope Pallas 1766.The geographical distribution of this species is restricted to some states of India.Blackbuck has been categorized as vulnerable by the IUCN endangered commission.Blackbuck population continues to decline due to poaching,hunting,shrinkage of natural habitats.Hence,there is a need for conserving the blackbuck from endangered status,and it is mostly succeed by reproduction.
