@@ This paper, under the minimalist framework and by virtue of the assumption of FP (or pP), (cf. Van Riemsdijk1990, Rooryck1996, Ayano2000，Thomas2004, Gehrke2007, among others), tries to provide answers to the questions: 1) Are the postverbal Pzai在 and Pdao到, syntactically or semantically identical, for they both bring directional meaning (endpoint of the Path) to matrix verbs in the Chinese syntactic pattern VPP (V + locative PP)? 2) Why can the directional interpretation be found only in certain sorts of path verbs but not all?
