314 stainless steel and Q235 carbon steel were successfully bonded by vacuum multiple hot rolling at 1100℃.SEM and OM microscopic shows a gradient grain distribution near the interface between stainless steel and carbon steel, there are many ferrite grains presented at the outer of carbon steel, which is taken as decarburized layer. While many regular polygon grains with clear boundary are existed at the outer of stainless steel taken as carburized layer. The Cr element near interface layer reveals a obvious gradient distribution with the thickness of 2~3μm,many Mn-Si-O oxide particles are presented at the interface due to selection oxidation. The Vickerss hardness along the interface reveals complex trend: The decarburized layer obtains the lowest value, while carburized layer reveals the highest value, which are attributed to the diffusion of carbon and alloy elements.
