Circulating tumor cell(CTC) detection and enumeration technique has developed rapidly in recent years.However, few studies have focused on bladder tumors.Epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of tumor cells is considered to play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis.In this study, we aimed to explore the diagnostic use of novel CTC enumeration and epithelial/mesenchymal probe marking technique in bladder cancer.We included 18 patients with bladder cancer (pTa-T2N0M0), while incorporating 24 healthy volunteers and 13 patients with benign disease as controls.Subjects underwent blood draws of 10ml peripheral blood.CTC were separated with modified CanPatrolTM System.RNA in situ hybridization (RNA-ISH) were performed with epithelial tumor cells (Epi) specific probes (EpCAM, CK5/7/18/19, CDH1) and stromal tumor cells (Mes) specific probe (Twist, CDH2, SERPINE1, Vimentin) on isolated CTC cells.Patients demographics, clinical data,pathological outcomes were simultaneously collected for further analysis.
