Background HBV-infected individuals are immune tolerant or have deleted HBV antigen-specific T cell clones, which are thought to underlie the pathogenesis in chronic asymptomatic HBV carriers (AsC).The importance of CD4 + and CD8 + T cells in protection against HBV is well known, and T cell receptor beta variable (TCRBV) reflects the composition and function of T cells. However, the molecular profiles of TCRBV in CD4 + , CD8 + T cell subsets and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in AsC have not been well described.
