In crustaceans, periodic shedding of the exoskeleton is one of the most important physiological process which is essential for crustacean muscle growth and postembryonic development.Myosins are expressed ubiquitously in all eukaryotic cells as the major protein in skeletal muscle. However, the physiology and biochemistry of skeletal muscles in the ridgetail white prawn Exopalaemon carinicauda have been poorly understood till now.
