In many organisms vasa gene is specifically expressed in germ line cells throughout the life cycle,making it a powerful molecular marker to study germ line development.Recent evidence indicates that fish,like flies,there have different splice isoforms of vasa gene and the expression pattern were difference between different splice isoforms.To obtain further information on splice isoforms of Vasa gene in crustaceans, we reanalyze the transcriptomic library data of the Chinese mitten crab ovary and obtained six types of vasa splice variants termed vasa-1, vasa-2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e.
