ABA (abscisic acid) plays an essential role in seed germination.In this study, we demonstrate that one SnRK3 (SNF1-Related Protein Kinase subgroup 3)-type protein kinase, PKS5 (SOS2-1ike protein kinase 5, also known as CIPK11 or SnRK3.22), is involved in ABA signal transduction via phosphorylation of an interacting protein, ABI5 (ABA-INSENSITIVE 5).
