The properties of a polymer are determined by its chemical structure,architecture,and monomer sequence.Unlike natural polymers such as DNAs and proteins,most synthetic polymers are not structurally and functionally complex,because of poor control of either the chain-growth or step-growth processes when they are synthesized from two or more different types of monomers.
