In recent years,there is a great interest in developing a multifunctional nanoscale platform for cancer monitoring and chemotherapy [1-3].Herein,we report folate coated lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles (Gd-FLPNPs) for targeted drug delivery and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).G-dFLPNPs were prepared using a single-step assembly method.Gd-FLPNPs comprised of a poly(D,Llactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) core,a soybean lecithin monolayer,paramagnetic (gadoliniumdiethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid-bis-tetradecylamide) (Gd-DTPA-BC16) and reduction-sensitive methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)-SS-hexadecyl (mPEG-S-S-C16) shell,and (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-carboxy(polyethylene glycol) 2000-Folate) (DSPE-PEG2k-FOL) targeting ligand.For Gd-LPNPs (non-targeting control),DSPE-PEG2k-FOL was replaced by DSPE-PEG2k.
