We have developed a new technology that uses cultured cell layers grafted from the thermoresponsive polymer poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) that allows controlled attachment/detachment of living cells via simple temperature change.We also have developed unique methods to create layered and vascularized 3D tissues for organ-like systems such as the heart and liver.Triple-layeredconstructs were repeatedly transplanted into rat subcutaneous tissue with an adequate time-interval for blood vessel formation as a unique technology utilizing in vivo vascularization potential.
