Animals including human beings increase their feeding motivation under starved condition.Such a starvation-induced increase of feeding motivation might different among wild-derived strains in Drosophila melanogaster.In the behavioral experiments using two wild-derived Drosophila strains, Mel6 and TW1, we found that TW1, rather than Mel6, drastically decreased the feeding threshold to sucrose after 24 h starvation.
