Performance of micro-mixers designed with the combination of curved wall and bluff-bodies in the mixing chambers is described in this paper.The micro-mixer was made by the micro-fabrication process of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) (see Fig.1).This design attempts to enhance the interactions between the Dean vortices and wake in the mixing chamber.The mixing processes can be further controlled by the external excitation using a flow control device.Results showed that the finger type mixing patterns were generated by an external excitation, as shown in Fig.2.It is found that a complete mixing can be achieved under the arrangement of curved bluff-bodies and external excitation.
