This study aims to propose a performance assessment test method on injection type repair materials used for the repair of water-leakage cracks affecting the safety and the performance of long-term durability of concrete structures and develop international standards on the test method.Water-leakage cracks on underground concrete structures are always influenced by various environmental conditions (minute behavior of cracks, temperature change, water quality, water pressure, earth pressure, wet surface condition among others).Such environmental conditions adversely affect the durability of repair materials used for water-leakage cracks, and the consequent deterioration of the watertightness influences the safety performance of structures due to repeated leakage.Despite such situations, there is no national or international standardized testing method with which to verify the performance of water-leakage crack repair materials, making it very difficult to perform a quality management at water-leakage crack repair sites.According to such circumstances, six test methods (resistance to permeability, responsiveness to substrate movement, thermal stability, adhesiveness on wet substrate, water (wash out) resistance, and chemical resistance) are implemented as international standards for the quality management method for repair materials under the conditions of water-leakage cracks. This article will introduce these six test methods, and using them,it conducted a quality assessment of the materials in five series (a total of 15 types) which are used in actual water-leakage crack sites as water-leakage crack repair materials. As a result, the validity of the six testing methods reflecting the various water-leakage conditions of underground concrete structures was confirmed as the applicability and the standardized performance assessment method with which to verify the quality of water-leakage crack repair materials.
