　　Optical switches have been studied estensively in the past years.Twisted-nematic liquid crystals(TNLCs)should be the most successive approach for various optical switches.However,the light efficiency is low because of employing two polarizers.In comparison to TNLCs,devices based on surfac-reconfigurable liquid own some special merits for optical switches and displays: simple structure,broadband,and polarizer free.
