Multivariate (also known as multimarker) diagnostics are the long-awaited ascendance ofomics into healthcare.The promise of multiple measurements to characterize complexity is finally being realized.Multivariate panelsprovide specificity and sensitivity that are unobtainable with single biomarkers.Multivariate panels also have the potential to provide specificity and druggability that are unobtainable with single targets.Thus the emergence of multivariate diagnostics,which will be presented in detail,may inform the emergence of multivariate drug targets.
