“的”是汉语最常见的结构助词之一,它的一个主要用法是作为定语标记,在定语和中心语之间起联系项的作用.但“的”作为定语标记,并不是强制出现的,有时可以略去.有学者提出,名词短语中“的”的隐现可用“距离相似性”(principle of proximity)原则来解释:若隐去“的”,定语与中心语之间的距离更近,表明定语与中心语之间的语义关系较为紧密,两者构成一个概念整体;若“的”显性出现,则表明两者语义关系不那么密切.
