At present,water desalination has been accomplished by polyamide thin-film composite reverse osmosis(RO)membranes due to their superior water flux,and a high degree of salt and organic rejection.However,these membranes have some drawbacks such as short life-time due to bio-fouling,and narrow operating temperature(0 to 45 ℃)and pH ranges.In addition,they are prone to be degraded by chlorine attack.So,we have proposed the use of inorganic membranes for desalination as robust RO membranes.
