Micropacked bed reactors are a useful tool for multiphase chemical reaction studies and kinetic analysis,since they can offer better heat management and higher mass transfer rates than conventional packed beds1,2.However,the existing mass transfer correlations for large packed beds are not applicable to micropacked beds2.Recently,Tidona et al.3 reported a study of liquid to solid(L-S)mass transfer in micropacked bed with liquid flow in different channel geometries.Our work focuses on the study of L-S mass transfer using the dissolution of copper in acidified dichromate solution during gas-liquid(G-L)flow through a microreactor packed with copper particles(Fig.1).
