In this paper, we investigate the two parameter codimension three degenerate bifurcations of a novel model based upon the recently proposed smooth and discontinuous (SD) oscillator [1-4] having strong irrational nonlinearities due to the geometrical configuration.The investigation shows that the system admits the complicated equilibrium bifurcations near the catastrophe point A in parameter (a, β) space, which results in the multiple bucklings.The bifurcation diagrams classified the orbits of homoclinic, tangent homoclinic, homo-heteroclinic and cuspidal heteroclinic, respectively, resulting the non-buckling, single buckling and triple buckling with the transitions.
