Our previous studies revealed that the transcription of 45 genes were affected in the whil null mutant by DNA microarcay [1].Disruption of 5CO3599,encoding a putative myo-inositol-1-phosphate synthase (re-designated inol),resulted severely bald phenotype on MM medium Exogenous supplement of inositol could rescue spore formation.As the concentration of inoshol increased in the medium,the phenotype of the mutant strain could be arrested at different development stages,which are from bald phenotypo to wild-type spores.
