Objective: Previous study found mtTFA was decreased in lung from COPD patients and emphysema model.We hypothesized the decreased expression of mtTFA is caused by methylation.The aim of the study was to explore whether mtTFA promoter methylation regulates mtTFA expression in human umbilical vein endothelial cell line(HUVECs) exposed to cigarette smoke extracts (CSE).Methods: The methylation status ofmtTFA was examined using bisulfite sequencing analysis(BSP).mtTFA expression were detected by RT-PCR) and western blot.
