Chemerin is highly expressed in hepatocytes, and recently suggested to regulate tissue inflammation.Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with Inflammation and immunosuppression, which is characterized by abundant presence of immunosuppressive cells and pro-inflammatory cytokines. However,it remains unclear the role of chemerin in the development of HCC.In the present study, we found that Chemerin is down-regulated in tumor tissues from HCC patients and HCC cell lines.Importantly, decreased chemerin expression predicted a poor prognosis of HCC patients, implying a tumor-suppressing role of chemerin in HCC.
