Celastrol,a quinone methide triterpene isolated from the medicinal plant Tripterygium wilfordii,exhibits superior anti-tumor activity in different cancer models both in vitro and in vivo [1,2].However,celastrol is harmful to normal cells while killing cancer cells,which cause serious side effects.Thus,it is desirable to seek strategy to facilitate cleastrol selectively targeting tumor tissues and simultaneously reducing its exposure to normal tissues (e.g.liver).In addition,the poor water solubility of celastrol also restricts its further application.
