Previous studies indicated that climate change would have a major impact on the broad-leaved Korean pine forests in northeast Asia.Examining the climate-growth relationships of Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis) over large spatial and temporal scales will be crucially important to improving model prediction accuracy and understanding forest vulnerabilities under climate change.Six Korean pine tree-ring chronologies were developed in northeast Asia.Growth trends in recent decades were compared and main factors limiting growth were identified within each site.
