This paper aims to design a novel output structure as power combiner for high power klystrons. This microwave device is composed of four rectangular waveguide each working in the fundamental TE10 mode as input and one circular waveguide working in TE01 mode as output.Theoretical analysis of this structure is based on the newly developed finite plane-wave series-expansion technique and the concept of the extended boundary condition. The calculation result has been verified by software CST.The results of both EBMA (extended boundary condition modal analysis) and software simulation in this paper demonstrate the great value of this novel output structure. And it may also serve as basic reference stuff for its making.
