Background: LL-37 is an amphipathic α-helical antimicrobial peptide which is the unique member of Cathelicidin family discovered in human.LL-37, with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and difficulty to generate bacterial resistance, has become the preferred choice for the treatment of infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacterial strains. The residues segment 18-29 of LL-37 has been considered as the shortest peptide and the core region which have anti-microbial property The previous studies indicate that pH value has important effect on antibacterial activity and the antibacterial activity is consistent with the helical content.
