Background: Bone mineral density and structure analysis by quantitative computed tomography (QCT) have been utilized in clinical research studies to evaluate hip fracture risk.However, there is relatively little information about the distribution of cortical bone of the proximal femoral which is the key to resist fracture, especially about the Chinese elderly people.So, we used bone investigational tookit (BIT) of QCT to investigate the femoral neck structure of elderly population with atraumatic hip fractures.
