The Projected Shell Model has been developed by including various intrinsic deformations in the configuration space.In this new method,the quadrupole deformation parameter ε2 is taken as the generator coordinate.We apply this PSM-based Generator Coordinate Method(GCM)to investigate the intrinsic structures of the Kπ=0+ yrast and yrare bands in even-even nuclei 176~184Pt and 182~188Hg.For the Pt isotopes,our calculations show that the yrast bands are prolate,while the yrare bands are beta-vibrations on top of the yrast bands.
