Nitrate uptake and transport are important for the nitrate efficient utilization in rice.The low-affinity nitrate transporter family (NRT1) of rice (Oryza sativa L.) contains more 80 members and only one (OsNRT1.1) has functionally demonstrated as nitrate transporter.
