Lower limbs paralysis usually caused by spinal cord injury results in the loss of the ability to walk,which is important for any of us.Successful lower limbs sensory and motor rehabilitation of spinal cord injury subjects requires an intensive and task-specific therapy approach.Intelligent walking robot may offer a solution to further promote motor recovery and to better understand motor control.Our study presents clinically walking assisted devices for the lower limbs sensory and motor function rehabilitation,which have been developed by our group and the Fuyin company.The walking robot,enables the bilateral practice of lower limbs and knee movement,and is currently tested.The robotic walking trainer for lower limbs allowed the training of arbitrary daily locomotion and was done for 4 weeks with the goal to check the sensory and motor improvement.The locomotion trajectories can be individually adjusted to each patient,in addition the machine will offer a sophisticated patient-machine-interaction.Finally,after 4 weeks,our participants were able to slowly walk with knee and ankle movement by the robot assistance.Next step we will do a long time trial to find the effects for daily training using this type of machine.
