In previous study on the functionality of a food,we isolated biologic response modifier(KFSP-BRM) from Korean-style fermented soybean paste (KFSP) and found out that the K FSP-BRM enhances specifically the proliferation and function of B-cells and is not detected in non-fermented soybean.To isolate the bacteria producing BRM that was found in KFSP,and to investigate the chemical and biological characteristics of the BRM.Bacteria existing in KFSP were isolated and their BRM activities were measured by the serological response to anti-KFSP-BRM and by the proliferation of B-cells.
