  In this work,three particles(aluminium oxide,silicon nitride and silicon carbide)with the same size were successfully co-deposited into nickel-cobalt-phosphorus alloy by electroless plating,respectively.The effects of the different particles on the morphology,composition,microstructure,microhardness,wear and corrosion resistance of composites were investigated.The results reveal that all the three coatings are cellular structure,and the different particles do not affect the deposition rate obviously.The largest incorporation amount of particles in weight percentage is found to occur on the coating embedded with silicon nitride(NSN for short),followed by the coatings co-deposited with aluminium oxide(NAL for short)and silicon carbide(NSC for short).However,NSC has the highest incorporation amount of particles in number density.The coatings have the same predominant peak Ni(111),and the grain size is NAL>NSN>NSC.All the highest microhardness,best wear resistance,and lowest friction coefficient are obtained on NSC,but the order of the wear resistance is not exactly same as that of the microhardness,which is arrtributed to the adhesion between the particles and nickel-cobalt-phosphorus matrix in friction process in addition to the microhardness of coatings.The best corrosion resistance is found on NAL,followed by NSN and NSC,which is ascribed to the gain size of coatings.
