  Currently magnetic field or spin torques generated by power-dissipating currents are often used for the magnetization switching in spintronic devices.In order to revolutionize the spintronic devices for low-power consumption,fast response,low loss,and device minimization,magnetization switching purely with a voltage via the magnetoelectric (ME) coupling has been proposed.Many efforts have been made on the switching via ME coupling induced by the piezoelectric strain in magnet/piezoelectric heterostructures.This process is intrinsically based on the magnetoelastic coupling,i.e.the strain generated in the piezoelectric layer sustaining a voltage is transferred through the interface to the magnetic layer and induces additional magnetoelastic anisotropy for magnetization switching.
