Various bifurcation phenomena of pressurized,radially inhomogeneous,soft electroactive hollow cylinders are studied,including buckling caused by axial compression,snap-through instability by outer pressure,and eversion without any external loads.A highly elastic,functionally graded,incompressible,dielectric,Mooney-Rivlin material model is adopted.The analysis is based on a linear incremental theory for small deformation superimposed on a finite deformation which should be dealt with using the fully nonlinear continuum theory.A state-space formalism is developed which is very suitable for the current analysis.Our main idea is to study the effect of electric field and try to find out a feasible and convenient way to control the bifurcation behavior by electric means.
