A pH-responsive and biodegradable polymeric micelle was developed as a tumor-targeting drug and superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle delivery system.The block copolymer was synthesized by a Michael-type step polymerization ofhydrophilic methyl ether poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) and pH-responsive and biodegradable poly(β-amino ester), resulting in an amphiphilic MPEG-poly(β-amino ester) block copolymer.This copolymer, which could selfassemble nano-sized mieelles with core-shell structures under aqueous conditions, showed noticeable the pHdependent micellization-demicellization behavior.The micelle core could provide a carrier compartment for hydrophobic agents, and the hydrophilic shell stabilized micelles in blood environment and prolonged circulation time.
