Bioconversion via housefly larvae (Musca domestica) can efficiently convert swine manure into value-added bioproducts,however insights on fates of antibiotics and resistance genes and the associated linkage to microbial ecology during full-scale bioconversion is poorly understood.Nine antibiotics related to tetracyclines,sulfonamides and fluoroquinolones were probed;and 17 antibiotics grouped into 4 major classes and correspondingly 4 tetracycline resistance genes (tetM,tetO,tetQ,and tetW),2 sulfonamide resistance genes (sul1 and sul2),and 3 quinolone resistance genes (qnrA and qnrS) conferring resistance to these studied antibiotics were investigated in swine manure undergoing a typical cycle of 6-days-lasting bioconversion.
