Micelles formed from amphiphilic linear PEG-based block copolymers have attracted significant attention as nanocarriers. They can easily extravasate from the tumors leaky blood capillaries and preferentially deliver drugs to cancer tissues by the enhanced permeability and retention effect [1].The PEG chains form a shell rendering the micelles stealth properties.Micelles based on amphiphilic branched copolymers have many advantages over micelles based on linear copolymers because of their highly functionalized globular architecture and low conformational freedom, such as drug loading efficiency, drug release kinetics and biodistribution [2].We further hypothesized that a shell formed from branched PEG chains might cover the hydrophobic core better and thus inhibited protein adsorption better, leading to better stealth properties.
