The presence of large constitutive particle formed during solidification decreases the strength and hot workability of aluminium alloys.Therefore, the evolution of these phases is a major issue in the homogenization process.In this study, the microstructural evolution of a new type Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy with Er and Zr additions during homogenization are investigated.
