Certain plant leaves are known to be hydrophobic in nature. The use of plant growth hormones/pesticides is often limited by its adhesion resulting huge losses of active compounds especially by doing foliate application. To increase the efficiency of such an application, new chemically modified plant growth hormones/pesticides was developed. We designed and synthesized a series of coumarin-containing light-responsive molecules and its chemical modifications with various substitutions aiming to improve leaves adhesion properties. The compound was characterized by using spectroscopic techniques i.e.
