Cognitive psychology is that the study of how thoughts and mental processes influences other cognitions and behaviors.Cognitive psychologists have developed cognitive learning theories. The learners can utilize learning strategies to help them take active control their thoughts and behaviors.Learning strategies are increasingly recognized as important to learning.Teachers and students should be aware of the importance of applying learning strategies in order to improve learning processes and outcomes.Due to manystudents studying problems in which some students do not know how to apply cognitive approaches and skills, teachers may devise relevant programs or workshops to facilitate this type of learning. Both teachers and students need to identify what comprises cognition and meta-cognition, how these components interact with each other and how students can apply these strategies into their work such as reading, math and so on.Recent research in the field of education has provided some examples to explain cognition and meta-cognition, its function, and application. In fact, Carrell et al, Gourgey, and Hartman (2001, 2001, 2001) have developed a variety of cognitive and meta-cognitive learning strategies for fostering learners skills, particularly in the areas of reading.
