Soy is a popular dietary component in daily life.Soy isoflavones, such as genistein, are very popular supplements with a number of claimed health benefits.Because of the highly controversial issue in soy/genistein associated benefits and risk of breast cancer, it is critical to differentiate soy/genistein associated "good" and "bad" effects on breast cancer.As genistein has both phytoestrogen and tyrosine kinase inhibitor activities, we focused on the effect of genistein on ER+/erbB-2+ breast cancer cells, which express both stimulating and inhibitory targets of genistein.
