In the research and development of ceramic glazes,the preparation of trial glazes and the improvements of its recipes are often repeated many times.Our institute,AIST Japan,has more than 300,000 glaze test pieces from over 80 years ceramic studies.These pieces are the physical evidence of the processes and the results of glaze test experiments.Many kinds of traditional glazes are applied to pottery giving it a beautiful finish.Glazes are also used for various ceramics,such as building material,sanitary ware,electrical parts,and so on.
