Various types of textile structures, such as linear (yarn), two dimensional (non-woven, knitted, and woven fabric) and three dimensional (non-woven, knitted, and woven including braided structures) have made their way to new applications beyond traditional apparel because of their unique combination of light weight, flexibility, permeability, strength, and toughness.
